ONEBODY.COM (1/00 to 6/01)
COMMUNITY DIRECTOR
- Involved in all levels
of development for all Onebody.com community products, including chat,
message boards, special event chats, and responsible for all hosting and
moderation needs across same.
- Responsible for all
abuse issues in OneBody community products.
- Created the concept of
OneBody "Buddy" program (still in development), a community of
volunteers. Led creation of the OneBody Policies and Procedures documents
and rewrote the OneBody Terms of Service.
- Member of core team
responsible for developing the first OneBody “Personal Coach” program and
the “Balanced Life” service.
- Personally hired,
trained and managed a staff composed of remote and inhouse employees, who
in turn trained and monitored the volunteers of OneBody, and generally oversaw
all moderation.
LYCOS NETWORK
NETWORK COMMUNITY MANAGER (5/99 TO 1/00)
- Handling all issues of
online community development for entire Lycos network properties,
including Wired.com, HotBot, Whowhere, Webmonkey, and other Lycos owned
businesses.
- Involved in all levels
of development for all Lycos Network interactive community products,
including chat, message boards, Clubs, games, stock boards, special event
chats, and responsible for all hosting and moderation needs across same.
- Responsible for all
abuse issues in Lycos interactive community products. Have worked closely
with the FBI to identify and prosecute software pirates, pedophiles,
malicious hackers, and others.
- Created the concept of
the Lycos Community Team (LCT), our community of hosts. Led creation of
the Policies and Procedures manual and the Lycos Volunteer Training
system, a course of instruction for Lycos community volunteers, and
rewrote the Lycos Terms of Service.
- Personally hired,
trained and manage a staff of 20, who in turn train and monitor the
volunteers of the Lycos Community Team, and generally oversee all
moderation on Lycos.
TRIPOD.COM - COMMUNITY MANAGER (4/98-5/99)
- Involved in all aspects
of Community Development at Tripod.
- Responsible for the
growth of Tripods online communities from less than 40 “pods” when I
started to 185 during my tenure there, growing the “pods” community from
under 100,000 to over 2 million registered users.
- Recruited, trained, and
managed the volunteer “Poderators” (forum leaders), who provided
leadership in each topic-specific pod, and created and developed the
“PodHost” program, volunteers who performed the duties of chat and message
board hosts.
- Personally managed a
staff of both inhouse as well as remote workers.
